On any given day, as many as 1,000 community residents come into the center to receive or deliver services. Since the early 1990s, Hosanna House has gathered people and pulled our resources together with a single purpose in mind, ending a life cycle of poverty and helping individuals and families reach their maximum potential. In 2003, the Sherwood Event Center property was acquired to meet the need for summer recreational programs. Hosanna House offers high-quality care and early education services to children from toddler age through High School. The facility's goal is to produce a generation of children prepared for the successful transition into grade school and beyond. Hosanna House is a permanent housing facility that serves single women over the age of 18 who have been chronically homeless and have documented disability. The facility is equipped with 15 single rooms, shared bathrooms, common living and dining room, as well as a full-service kitchen.

Hosanna House is committed to eradicating blight, restoring green space, providing affordable housing, and generating economic development in Wilkinsburg for the community. A $150,000 grant through the Republic Services Charitable Foundation is supporting Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh's project at the community center. Your rental dollars are leveraged to care for thousands of kids and families annually through free or reduced childcare to open access to sports and recreation to providing critical health and human services. Our outdoor pavilion can accommodate up to 225 guests under its covering and an additional 275 guests around the pool deck. The pavilion is surrounded by beautiful wisteria that leads you to an outdoor, open-air chapel and the zero-entry swimming pool. We’ve recently expanded Sherwood to include three, indoor event suites that can accommodate up to 200 guests, when combined.
